Time to play...

Yesterday is history...tomorrow is mystery...today is a gift -Eleanor Roosevelt
My favorite quote. I made this postcard for the current challenge at Mixed Media Monday. There is no theme this week, just instructions to play and enjoy the process of creating.
If you click on the image you'll see that in addition to adding a bit of trim to her dress, I also added some to her socks.
I hope you are enjoying the process no matter what you are doing.
Have a great day.
Be back soon.

It feels good...

to be back in the swing of things... Created a few items yesterday and working on an album the rest of the week.
The current challenge at Art Creations Friday is to use this background image...

and here's my piece...

Eat thy bread with joy, and drink thy wine with a merry heart. -Ecclesiastes
Seems fitting since I just spent Saturday at a wine festival.
Hope your week is going well, have a great day.

This and that...

A few photos to share from the last few days...

My little buddy, he's growing up way too fast.

Finally, back to working on a few challenges. This is for a challenge at Lydia's Reveal, the theme, My Favorite Summer Dress. I chose a little play on words since I'm not really a dress person, I'd rather wear my favorite pair of jeans. Yes, I'll be back later in the month asking for your vote!
Thanks to all that voted for my Alice in Wonderland entry.

Postcards from the Edge...of my mind.
This is the cover I just made for my postcard album which I made using a 36 photo album from the dollar store.
Cool dudes and the Princess.
My craft show helpers, Gabriel, Hugh and Hannah. I truly love you guys!
I am so blessed.
Hug someone you love today!

Sad story with a happy ending...

This is Boo, funny name but if you remember the song, Me and You and a Dog named Boo, it makes sense...

My brother was driving back and forth to a job site last week and saw her on three different occasions. He stopped on Thursday and when he got a good look at her, realized that she had been abandoned. Her skin was hanging off her body and you could count every rib and feel every bone in her sweet little body. He picked her up and brought her home.

Took this photo yesterday and as you can see, she's adapting well although it will be a while before she is considered healthy. She is going to the vet today and we will know more about her after the appointment. She is just the sweetest thing and I'm so proud of my brother because he's not really an animal person and he chose to take her home and save her. She would not have lasted much longer on her own.
I'm still unpacking from the show and getting things put away. It was a very nice festival although extremely hot. Didn't do much as far as sales but I met a lot of wonderful people and had a fantastic time so it was well worth it.
Have a wonderful day.
Be back soon.

Go ask Alice...

I have entered my Alice postcard, You Hold the Key, in a contest that runs through tomorrow. You can vote for my card, or your favorite, here.
I appreciate your votes!

Just a few days...

until my first craft show of the year. On Saturday I'll be attending the Horse & Hound Wine Festival, held at Johnson's Orchard in Bedford. Looking forward to it however not looking forward to the heat and humidity that is expected. If you are in the area, it looks like a lot of fun.
One of the guys my husband works with heard that I'm always on the lookout for old books to use in my art and sent this home with him one day last week...

A big, fat dictionary, so beautiful that I hesitate to tear out any pages. The cover is coming off however the pages are in great shape. I cannot imagine anyone just giving it away but I'll take it! Thanks Nathan!

Some of the note card sets I've made for the show. I used the new Bon Appetit set from Close To My Heart.

Tyler and Amy
Tyler was here for a few days last week and I got a chance to take a few photos of him with his mommy. Love this photo!
Well, it's back to work.
Hope you have a wonderful Wednesday.
Be back soon.

More from the gardens...

A few more photos from our day at the Lewis Ginter Botanical Gardens...

I could have stayed at the gardens for days. A visit is well worth the drive to Richmond.
Megan's surgery went well and she is on the mend. I'm back at the shop today and enjoying a visit with Tyler.
Hope you have a fantastic day.
Be back soon.
